The famous American couple Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas plan to spend their summer holiday in their house in Perast. Three years ago, the Hollywood couple bought for two million euros one of the most beautiful houses in this wonderful place in Boka Kotorska (Bay of Kotor), but the magnificent house has been empty until now. Workers who are hurriedly preparing the place for the owners’ arrival have recently been spotted.
“When they arrived in Perast three years ago, nobody recognized them,” says one of the locals, whose house they also came to see.
“After they saw the house, we sat in a restaurant to have a drink and discuss possible transactions. The woman, for whom I would never think to be Catherine Zeta-Jones, was wearing long white trousers, a white linen shirt and had her head wrapped in white linen. She had big sunglasses. It was a scorching day, the temperature was about 35 degrees, I found the way she was dressed very strange. As if she was reading my mind, she said that she was allergic to sun and that she had to protect her skin,” says the neighbor of the famous couple. “When I told the man that he seemed familiar and asked him if he had been here before, he said that he was an actor. As soon as I recognized Douglas, I felt extremely embarrassed.”
The son and daughter-in-law of Kirk Douglas will arrive on their luxury yacht and they plan to visit the French and Italian coast this summer.
We hope that this time they will have all necessary papers in order to avoid an incident from several years ago when they were fined 2,000 euros by Italian coast guards because they went ashore without necessary documentation. Italian authorities reported that the Hollywood couple did not inform them about their arrival in the famous summer resort and broke the immigration law.
The rich couple, whose assets are estimated at about 150 million euros, like to buy real-estate all over the world. Michael and Catherine have two houses in Los Angeles, a luxury suite in New York, a house in Colorado, a villa in Mallorca, a house on the Bermuda Islands and a villa in Canada.
“Some people like to collect works of art, but we like to collect houses,” Catherine Zeta-Jones explained their passion.
No wonder that they haven’t been to Perast for the past three years when they have so many houses.
