Perast Villa

Villa Hollick in Perast

Charming house situated to Perast, one of the most beautiful villages of the bay of Kotor. Big house on 3 levels, comfortable and well equipped (miss a few kitchenware). Ideal for 6 persons. The small shaded court allows to take all its outdoor meals. The house is situated in some meter of the edge of the water, separated by a small little busy road. The environment is very quiet. We spent a very pleasant stay and we recommend you this house, as well as Montenegro and bay of Kotor. "

We couldnt have asked for more - The Villa  was like home from home. It was lovely to arrive after a days travelling to find that snacks, tea, coffee and milk had been left for us and the complimentary bottle of wine was very welcome in the evening. The property was immaculate with modern appliances and a really comfy bed.

Perast's central location in the bay is perfect for driving to the best sights, beaches and restaurants (we loved eating at Stari Mlini). As we travelled around the area, we soon realised that we were staying in the nicest village and wouldnt be tempted to stay elsewhere in the future. We fell in love with Montenegro's amazing scenery and vowed to return to the Villa Hollick as soon as we can.

My husband and I spent a week at Villa Hollick in Perast in August 2010. Perast is a wonderfully pretty village with just the right number of bars and restaurants to give variety while maintaining tranquility. Our favourite was Hotel Conte Nautica's restaurant - great service, wonderful food - we felt like regulars by the end of the week.

Perast's setting in the bay of Kotor is simply spectacular. I don't think I'd ever tire of the view of the bay and I really hope Montenegro manages to maintain its beauty and does not allow the environment and water to be degraded by over use of speed boats and too many tourists. Perast is perfectly located to explore the bay of Kotor. We're a very lazy couple on holiday and for this reason we didn't bother hiring a car (we took a taxi from Dubrovnik airport) but we were still able to move around the bay very easily via the local bus service. Kotor is well worth a a visit - a really beautiful old town which is not quite as overloaded with tourists as Dubrovnik. I heard Kotor gets very loud and busy at night times - Montenegrins like their dance music - so I was pleased to not be staying there for the night.

The villa itself is beautifully furnished with comfortable beds, a lovely terrace and satellite TV. We much appreciated the DVD player during the hot lunchtime hours and managed to watch the entire Sopranos series one while we were there. Swimming from outside the villa is nice and there are lots of places to sunbathe on the seafront. It was very hot while we were there so we tended to spend our days on the shady terrace.

Much like my comments about the bay of Kotor generally the Perast authorities need to make sure that the village stays clean - littering and open bins do seem to be a problem there but I would say that's the only negative point about our visit. We'd highly recommend Perast and Villa Hollick - a truly delightful place to stay.

summer 2010 in Perast

Villa Hollick fulfilled all our expetations for this summer. Everything worked fine especially the air conditioning was very helpfull during some very hot days. We liked to stay in this nice stone house in the middle of Perast, which is the town where our ancestors lived till beginning of the 20th century. There was enough place for our big family(5 of our children, one doughter in law and grandma). We tried the restaurants and recommend all of them. All the sevicing people in the market, in the restaurents, the guides on the island and in the church were very friendly to us. Some nice people helped us to find the traces of our family. We could go to the normally closed cementry and even to to the island of St.George, which is closed for tourists.
Bathing only some steps from our house was wonderfull especially in the evening after climbing up the mountains in the Kotor region.
It was bathing between the mountains like in our country Austria but with the difference of a warm sea.
I can recommend the region of Kotor and the nice villa Hollick to all our friends. It was the top event of our summer.

We just returned from a blissful week in Villa Hollick in Perast.  What a fantastic place to stay.  The villa was supremely comfortable with duvets to die for (we even tried to get the same covers made in Kotor as they were so wonderful!) and all the mod cons you might need.  The location was fantastic.  Just a few metres away from the water front but not too close as to be on the village road itself.  The views from the villa were outstanding and we spent many hours sitting on the lovely terrace watching the world go by.  One of the real treats of staying in Perast was early evening walks up and around the little paths through the village and up the hill behind the villa.  We even found wild herbs growing in the nooks of the ancient walls.  Just walk from the villa and get lost along the little paths nearby - as you climb higher the views just get better and better.  Another treat was morning cappucino in the restaurant of Hotel Conti - heaven.  We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend Villa Hollick.

I just wanted to tell you that we enjoyed our stay in Perast. The house, the countryside are very nice, and there is no doubt we would like to go back some other time!

The contact Ana was very good. She has been very helpful to us. For example, we arrived late the first day, and she was waiting for us.

We tried two restaurants in Perast ( Conte and Admiral), near the sea, and it was very nice too. we found the people smily, and relax.... all what we look for in holidays!

Orahovac Villa

We have just enjoyed a simply wonderful family holiday in Villa Hollick. We adored the villa, it was perfect in every way and we couldn't fault anything about it. It is spacious, well-equipped, perfectly situated a stone's throw from the beach and on one of the most beautiful stretches of the sublime Bay of Kotor. This was our first visit to Montenegro and we are seriously contemplating returning next year as there is so much more to explore and scenery to take in. Delicious and plentiful meals from the next door neighbour together with good food at the hotel or the two beach bars, all under a 5 minute walk away. Thank you so much to the owners who have been helpful, efficient and informative. All three children rate it as "the best summer holiday.... ever".

very comfortable house with fabulous views

We spent a week in August at Villa Hollick with our two young children. We thought the house was beautifully done, and really well thought out in terms of amenities -- air conditioning in the rooms, a barbecue, nice terrace furniture.

The windows and 180 views of the bay are lovely, and the beach across the street is the best we found in the whole bay, rarely overly crowded and a nice, family atmosphere. Being able to wake up in the morning and take a dip before breakfast sealed the experience for us.

We also thought the area of Orahovac was a great place to stay, probably one of the nicest corners in Montenegro, away from the summer crowds and madness, yet right near the beautiful town of Perast (which we loved) and not far from quaint Kotor.

We'll definitely be back! Thank you Amanda for the use of your lovely home.

"In the splendid surroundings of little and quiet Orahovac hamlet, we found the villa being more attractively in reality then in pictures.
The house is equipped with all you may need, elegant and well decorated. Clean as well. All information needed where provideded in many languages. From the living room terrace we could watch over our children bathing in the warm waters of Kotor Bay. The beach was almost empty on all times (last week of august). All in all a place designed for relaxation and late night talking around a cold beer or a bottle of wine.
Those looking for close clubs and dancing rings must look elsewhere, or go to Kotor.
We found in the Grota restaurant a tasty cuisine and a skilled personal.
You need car for a proper shopping, because in the hamlet you  find only basic food - ex.: you can't find fresh meet, or fish.
Short travelings (Perast, Kotor) can be done with the air conditioned local bus (can arrive earlier then on schedule).
In the end, I would recommend the property to everyone who's not seeking an agitated holiday.

Review Title     : 998279 - "Exellent holiday"

"This house is superb very spacious and furnished to a high standard and upon arrival everything was very clean and tidy. The views from the two front bedrooms and patio are amongst the best you could find anywhere. The village of Orahovac was quiet with hardly any traffic and the village shops had most of the everyday essentials. The neighbours were very friendly and helpful. There are many good restaurants close by some which are mentioned in the Villa book and the village hotel also had a good restaurant. This is a great base and if you have a car there are so many places close by with Kotor only 10 to 15 minutes away. Kotor is a fantastic place with loads of character many bars and restaurants  and a food market everyday. The bus service is also very regular and reliable

This is our second time in Montenegro the first time we stayed in Amanda Hollicks other property in Perast and would have no hesitation in recommending either properties with the villa in Orahovac being the one for larger parties.

Dear  Amanda!

We have returned home, in Ukraine. Many thanks, we are very good rest. Your villa is well met all necessary canon of recreation.
We were in Kotor, swam into the sea on a boat, went to the monument Njegos. No time to visit Skadar Lake and the river Tara. We think that will leave it to another holiday. I met your son Nick, a true Englishman.

Very pleased as preparing fish and other dishes Fanika, and delicious and not expensive. Ana also helped us to order the car, give her greetings to us.

We told his friends on vacation, they want to come too, but they have such large companies, and if less people, the rest will be expensive.
And everything else - very good, once again thank you! See!

The house was very beautiful. The garage directly at the house was very practical for our motorcycles. Each of us 4 bikers had a double room with a own bathroom. 2 month before we didn't know how many people are going with us on tour. So it was very practically for us to rent a house with max. 10 sleep-places. At the end we where only 4. We had felt very comfortable in the house. It has been missing to nothing.
