Basic Information.

Political system -  Montenegro became independent of Serbia in 2006.

Visas:. British and US nationals, citizens of most European countries, Australians and New Zealanders do not require a visa to visit Montenegro as a tourist for up to 90 days. Citizens of other countries need visas (which can be issued in any diplomatic mission of Serbia and Montenegro).

Health in Montenegro.

British nationals are entitled to free emergency treatment in Montenegro under a reciprocal healthcare agreement. Payment may be required for non-emergency treatment.

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office warns that the health system in Montenegro can suffer from a shortage of medicines and other essentials. Medical staff do not always speak English.

Travellers should not go to Montenegro without comprehensive medical insurance

Car insurance: There is a mandatory insurance of the vehicles at the border crossings. The green card is valid for the following countries: Albania, Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Croatia, the Netherlands, Ireland, Italy, Israel, Iran, Island, Cyprus, Latvia, Luxemburg, Hungary, Morocco, Malta, Macedonia, Moldavia, Germany, Norway, Portugal, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, Great Britain.

ATM`s & cards:  You have ATM`s in almost every city. You can use MasterCard, Maestro and Visa card for paying in many shops and gas stations. Other card are accepted in some of the Banks in Montenegro.

Buses / Bus Timetable.

Transfer from Dubrovnik to Montenegro and vice versa

There is several bus lines between Dubrovnik and Montenegro on a daily basis (in the summer time). This changes all the time, so we advise you to check out web site of Dubrovnik bus station that has the most reliable timetable.The Web adress is - http://www.libertasdubrovnik.hr

“Blue Line” is a Montenegrin company that has daily lines from Dubrovnik to Herceg Novi (Montenegrin town, close to the border of Croatia). From Herceg Novi there is many lines during the day for all other destinations inside of Montenegro. "Blue Line" has regular bus line from Herceg Novi to Dubrovnik (daily).

Time table:
Herceg Novi - Dubrovnik : every day in 9.30 AM (main bus station in H.Novi),
Dubrovnik - Herceg Novi : every day at 09:30 , 10:30 , 15:30 and at 19:00.On Wednesdays there is also a bus at 20:30 (main bus station in Dubrovnik).
